SUGAR TOP FACEBOOK PAGE TO PUBLISH TROUBLEMAKERS LIST
Bill Watkins, who runs a Sugar Top Facebook page, plans to publish a list of troublemakers, including owners he describes as "troublemakers."
Mr. Watkins posted on his Facebook page that he received a letter, but he did not identify the purpose of the letter or what was stated in it. According to the investigation, the letter references numerous felony convictions discovered about the Sugar Top manager, Shannon Gorman/Beaumont. There have been questions surrounding her past felony convictions, why they were not disclosed, and how they might affect her performance in managing the HOA's finances. In his post, pictured above, Mr. Watkins draws conclusions about the people involved without citing any facts. Moreover, Mr. Watkins has banned owners who bring up questions, calling into question the positions he takes on his page.
In the comment pictured above, Mr. Watkins is referring to when Lynne Troelstrup, a past HOA president, hired Shannon Gorman Beaumont as the HOA manager. The former president apparently knew of Ms. Gorman/ Beaumont’s convictions in the state of Florida. Ms. Gorman/Beaumont pled guilty to those convictions, which involved financial fraud related to her brother's law firm and its clients. Ms. Gorman/Beaumont remains on probation for certain crimes she committed through 2029. Ms. Troelstrup, the former president, according to recent publications from the board, apparently knew about the prior convictions but did not disclose them to the board when that board voted to hire her.
The current board, however, is investigating the incident. More information on the current board’s action will be published in future articles.
Additionally, Mr. Watkins continues to actively ban owners for commenting on posts related to Sugar Top and the status of events at Sugar Top. Mr. Watkins states,
“I’ve had so far to people post some of this on this page who has since been banned from the group.”
Mr. Watkins, in the past, has banned people from the group he created under the Sugar Top name if they disagree with any post or action he takes as the publisher.
The Facebook page, approved by the Board of Governors of the Homeowners Association, does not allow all owners to participate by commenting if they disagree with certain information on the page. The issues of the troublemakers list and banning owner comments have been ongoing concerns with the Sugar Top Facebook page published by Bill Watkins.
The board of governors, in the past, has not taken action to either ask Mr. Watkins to open the page for all owners, or not to publish items, such as the threatened"the troublemakers list," or to allow all owners to freely discuss HOA business being posted on the Sugar Top-sanctioned Facebook page.
